Product Care
BambooTimbre™ and Solid Hardwood
Dust furniture regularly, wipe it clean as needed with a soft dry cloth. Go gently along the grain.
Place felt pads on items that may scratch hardwood floors or table surfaces.
Avoid direct exposure to the sun and do not use outdoors.
Avoid using alcohol-based products as they might strip the finish.
Note for Solid Hardwood:
To prevent damage to the finish, avoid direct contact with alcohol or hot food.
Leather
Dust with a soft, clean cloth regularly. Clean up spills with a fresh absorbent cloth quickly and thoroughly.
To remove slight stains, prepare a lukewarm water solution with mild soap. Sponge the whole surface sparingly, evenly and quickly.
For more complicated situations it is best to get professional help.
Avoid direct exposure to the sun and do not use outdoors.
Avoid direct contact with alcohol and hot food, which can ruin the pure aniline finish.
Hardware
The hand-forged iron or brass hardware should be wiped clean with a soft, dry cloth as needed.
Additional Cleaning Tips
• Citrus oil or orange oil-based cleaners may be effective for removing sticky, waxy, or oily residue and stains on furniture or upholstery. Because of the variety of available cleaners and the fact that manufacturers do not disclose all ingredients, we cannot test them all or recommend one brand over another. For the same reasons, follow these instructions at your own risk. Consult a professional re-finisher or leather cleaner if a large area is affected or for difficult-to-remove residue and stains.
- Read and follow instructions on the product label
- Test in an inconspicuous area first. Cleaner may darken some leathers
- Never spray or apply directly to furniture or upholstery. Always apply on a clean, dry cloth then wipe onto residue or stain
- Wipe along grain in one direction to avoid spreading residue around
- As cloth gets dirty, use a cleaner part of the cloth
- To prevent change in surface sheen, avoid rubbing vigorously
- Do not let cleaner sit on surface for a long period of time
- Entire surface may have to be cleaned for a consistent appearance
- After surface is cleaned, wipe with a clean, dry portion of cloth to remove any cleaner from the surface
• Furniture polishes with no waxes, silicones, or abrasives may be used to polish hardwood and BambooTimbre pieces. Manufacturers may change formulations without notice--always check the label.
- Assure surface has no damage exposing bare wood or bamboo. Furniture polish may be used on surface scratches which do not penetrate the finish
Note: Furniture polishes do not eliminate surface scratches, but may make them less visible - Test furniture polish first on an inconspicuous area. Follow manufacturer's instructions
- Do not spray furniture directly. Always apply furniture polish on a clean soft cloth, then wipe onto furniture
- Wipe gently with the grain. Vigorous wiping may change surface sheen
