Due to sun exposure, climatic conditions, soil constitution and seasonal changes, bamboo exhibits myriad variations in color. The interior of bamboo is naturally blond, however it can be turned from light to dark by heat-treating or “carbonizing” its sugar content. Carbonization is an actual transformation of the bamboo chemistry - a natural finish not achievable with wood.
