Proprietary Finishing Techniques


To give each furniture piece a natural look and feel, Maria Yee uses a proprietary, multi-step process to create a finish that enriches the grain and protects the surface. Quality lacquer helps shield the wood from harmful elements and showcase its beauty. Additionally, our finish renders routine maintenance easy and kept to a minimum.


In 2009, Maria Yee introduced a vivid water-based coating - an eco-friendly material. Our state of the art water-based finish is exceptionally low in Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and contains no added formaldehyde which gives rise to toxic fumes during manufacturing and at home. It is sturdier than traditional finishes, resistant to scratches and many household products (such as beverages and cleaners) but still provides a clear and rich look.
